Kitchen and Bath Portfolio

Every inch counts!

Interior Design for Kitchens and Bathrooms

Function, function, function combined with beautiful aesthetics!

A kitchen should always be designed by someone who COOKS, and Joe has been doing this since he was a child. What goes where in a kitchen, and why - are the first steps in planning, in addition to careful selection of materials that are easy to use and clean.

Bathrooms also need to be designed with maximum storage, good lighting, and areas that are able to be cleaned and maintained easily.

Style, of course, is the FUN part of it all, and we can make a BIG impact, even in a smaller space.

West Village Marble Bath

Warm, Modern Bathroom using the Best Materials

Simplicity and Quality

This bathroom was designed as a sleek, modern, open space using the absolute BEST materials and finishes available. Beautiful white and rich chocolate brown marbles are combined in the most modern way, while adding visual interest, and having the materials themselves be the "star" of the room.

Bronze hardware that is rich to the eyes and the touch adds the right amount of warmth to the room that was doubled in size from its original footprint, and makes the owners happy each time they step inside.

The vanity and mirror are a dark espresso-finish wood, and chosen to be oversized/overscaled to fool the eye give the feeling of space, with more surface area for the countertop and more light reflection in the medicine cabinet mirror. The lights flanking the mirror echo the tile design in the walls, and the incomparable statuary marble vanity top is a showstopper in its beauty. Simple but luxurious hardware was chosen to compliment the look of the room.

The tile design was executed with white Thassos tile from Greece, and stripes of Moleskine mosaic tile from Italy. The suggestion of crown molding, a chair rail and base molding was made using different widths of tile. Towel bars and plumbing fixtures were placed along the mosaic tile lines to create a seamless, modern look. The toilet was chosen not only for its sleek and modern lines, but it also has an automatic-flush feature that is activated when one waves a hand above the sensor!

The beautiful shower doors are partially frosted for privacy, but clear to create the feeling of space. A beautiful bronze rain showerhead hangs high overhead, and mosaic tile on the floor below creates the ultimate in luxury for those taking a shower each and every morning!

Open Modern Kitchen

Custom Cabinetry, Open Concept, BIG STYLE

A Tailor-Made NYC Kitchen Design

We started by ripping down as many walls as possible. Then we designed the custom cabinets to maximize function, storage, and efficiency. Doors were painted for easy clean-up. We bought the best appliances: a Sub-Zero Fridge, Wolf Stove, and Bosch Dishwasher. Two different quartz countertops add maximum style.

THEN... the gorgeous hand-painted tile from Portugal was added, and coordinated with the overhead lighting. We then added lighting inside and underneath the cabinets. Wood floors are most comfortable on which to walk... and we added a FUN wool throw rug with the image of a tiger woven into it!

The homeowners love everything about this kitchen. It's the center of their family life, and they will get pleasure out of cooking there each and every day.

Long Island Kitchen Design

Dramatic, Functional, Luxury

Modern Classic Kitchen

The true center of family life, the kitchen in this home is truly a stunning space. Bright white cabinetry plays with a rich walnut center island and dark wood floors. Gorgeous marble surfaces on the countertops, island and backsplash offer unsurpassed luxury.

A coffered ceiling was designed to evoke a feeling of warmth, and no expense was spared on top-of-the-line appliances that will make every meal prepared in this home a delicious feast for family and friends. Unique twin industrial iron chandeliers top off the room with an unexpected twist, and reflects the homeowners' sense of fun and a desire for something different in the space that they love and utilize each day.

Modern Blue Bathroom

Bold patterns and beauty

Balancing more with less

The homeowner wanted a bathroom with PERSONALITY. So, we gave it to her, and she could not be happier.

We began with the exciting patterned floor tiles, which offer a feast for the eyes. We juxtaposed that with an unexpected silver-painted ceiling and sunburst light fixture. The walls are painted coneflower blue (to match the hexagonal tile trim) and we had them stencil-painted with a beautiful ethnic design. We then chose a more subdued tile for the main walls, as there was a lot going on, and to give eyes a place to rest.

A modern pedestal sink, luxurious hardware, a deep soaking tub, and custom shower doors were the other big elements that give this room quite an impact!

Classic Marble Bathroom

Simple Luxury with Quality Materials

Making the absolute most of a small space

In New York City, sometimes it's not possible to enlarge a 5X8-foot bathroom, so the trick is to make it look bigger and to create an impact with the design.

Joe chose the most luxurious Calacatta Marble for the floors in 2 different sizes: 12x24-inches for the main part of the bath, and 1-inch mosaic tiles for the shower. We then repeated the idea on the walls by using 2 different sizes of white ceramic tile.

The selection of a taupe paint color pulled from the marble warms up the room. The color can be changed easily if the owner ever wants to change the feeling. A pedestal sink, beautiful toilet to coordinate, ultra-lux plumbing fixtures, and a beautiful beaded mirror finish off the look.

The finished product is one that will be enjoyed by the homeowner for years and years.
